When I was training for my 100km in 3 days Frontline Walk earlier this year I was amazed at the variety of walks across a lot of the land surrounding Farnborough and Aldershot. Caesar’s Camp for example, MOD land that stretches for miles and with some great views, even as far as London on a clear day.
One of the nicest surprises was the redevelopment of some local walks in the area known as Wellesley Woodlands which sits between Farnborough and Aldershot. The local council, and others, have spent some money on making the paths much easier (and accessible in some places), signposts, benches, and information panels detailing the varied history of the area.
We’re trying to make an effort to walk more and will be re-visiting some of these walks regularly.
